Calvin Harris is a highly reputed Scottish DJ, singer, and record producer. The official name of Calvin Harris is Adam Richard Wiles. Born on 17 January 1984 in Dumfries as the son of David Wiles and Pamela Wiles, he worked hard to pursue a career in music. His initial attraction was toward electronic music. He started recording bedroom demos as a teenager. He created two songs, Brighter Days and Da Bongos in 2002. The Label Prima Facie released these two songs as 12-inch club singles and CD-EPs under the title Stouffer in 2002.

Calvin Harris went to London to study the local music scene after the release of Stouffer. He worked with vocalist Ayah Marar to release the song Let Me Know. The lack of opportunities and money forced him to move back to Dumfries, Scotland. However, this passionate musician kept releasing homemade solo recordings on his Myspace page. Calvin Harris became the first musician with three songs on top of the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2014 simultaneously. He also holds the record of being the first UK solo artist with more than one billion streams on Spotify.
