Fall Out Boy is an acclaimed American rock band with an unbeatable track record. Three people met in a local bookstore and had a long discussion about the metal band, Neurosis. Those three people, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Patrick Stump later decided to form a pop bunk band in 2001. That is exactly how this band came into existence. They invited Andrew Hurley to join this group to make it a four-man rock band.

The lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of this Chicago-based band is Patrick Stump. Joe Trohman plays the role of lead guitarist. Pete Wentz is the bassist and Andy Hurley takes up the role of drummer. Emerged from the hardcore punk scene in Chicago, the founding members were keen on creating a pop bunk band. The first album of this band, Take This to Your Grave was released in 2003. It was a great success and helped Fall Out Boy build a loyal fan base. This album is often known as the most influential blueprint for pop punk music in recent times.

The release of the label, From Under the Cork Tree in 2005 was a major milestone in the history of Fall Out Boy. It contained two super hit singles, Dance, Dance, and Sugar, We're Goin Down. These songs got the platinum certification to take the reputation of the band to the next level. Further, they received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist in 2006. The next release of the band in 2007, Infinity on High, debuted at the top position on the Billboard 200. The sales of this album crossed 260,000 in the first week itself. It comprised two enormously celebrated singles Thnks fr th Mmrs and This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race.

Fall Out Boy released their fourth album, Folie à Deux, in 2008. It was not a huge success as expected. After the release of one of the most successful singles, Believers Never Die, Fall Out Boy took a break for four years. During the period, they got engaged in a wide variety of side projects. In 2013, all members came together to create their fifth album, Save Rock and Roll. It was a second career number one for the band. One of the singles in this album, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) was on the top 20 list of all leading charts.

Fall Out Boy launched 8 punk-influenced tracks, titled EP PAX AM Days, in association with producer Ryan Adams. It was in 2015 that the sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho was released. It reached the number one position on the Billboard 200. The next project was a debut remix album, titled, Make America Psycho Again. Mania, the seventh studio album of Fall Out Boy was the number one song on the Billboard chart. With the stupendous performance of this album, the band achieved the distinction of taking the fourth album to the number one position and the sixth album to the top 10 positions consecutively.

It also holds the record of the most nominated band in the history for the Rock Video Category.
