James Arthur biography

James Andrew Arthur, popularly known as James Arthur is a famous song writer and singer from Britain. He was born on 2 March 1988 in Middlesbrough, England and he began writing and recording songs as a teenager itself. 

Syco Music released his maiden single called 'Impossible' and it become the number one song in UK Singles Chart. This was an ideal beginning for a budding artist like him and more than 1.4 million copies of this song have been sold in the UK alone. The worldwide sale came around 2.5 million copies. 

The second single 'You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You' also caught the attention of a large number of people in the UK. It was placed second on the UK Singles chart and this overwhelming reception motivated him to come up with many more songs. 

His fist studio album titled 'James Arthur' was launched in 2013 and he added previous singles like 'Impossible' in this album. On the UK Albums chart, it was placed on the number 2 spot and this album also achieved the distinction of being the 30th best selling album of the year in the United Kingdom. 

After the release of this album, he got involved in a series of controversies and it culminated in iTunes offering refunds to James Arthur. In 2014, Arthur ended his association with Syco and he entered into a new agreement with Columbia Records in 2015. His second album called 'Back From the Edge' was launched in 2016 and the single available in this album 'You Won't Let Go' reached the number one spot in the UK Singles chart. This song managed to keep its top position for three weeks consecutively and it also entered into the US Billboard charts in 2017. Arthur re-entered into an agreement with Syco in 2016. 

According to Arthur, Kurt Cobain, main singer and song writer of Nirvana inspired him to take up music as a career and he is also an admirer of Michael Jackson, Prince and Miguel.
