John Lennon was a big fan of The Shirelles who originally recorded this song.
This song was recorded in one take because the band played it very often during their live shows with Pete Best on vocals. Ringo Starr sang on the version released on the album, and it was his first recorded lead vocals with The Beatles.
The Beatles' version of this song is included in video game "The Beatles: Rock Band".
Ringo Starr performed this song with Green Day at the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
