Taylor Swift – Mean lyrics
You, with your words like knives,
And swords and weapons that you use against me.

You, have
knocked me off my feet again,
Got me feeling like a nothing.

You, with
your voice like nails on a chalk board, calling me out when I'm wounded.

You, picking
on the weaker man.

You can
take me downnn,
With just one single blow~

But you don't know,
What you don't know!

Someday, I'll be, living in a big ol' city,
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.
Someday, I'll be, big
enough so you can't hit me,
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.

Why you gotta be
so mean?

You, with your switching sides,
And your wildfire lies, and your humiliation.

You, have pointed out my flaws again.
As if I don't already see
them.

I walk with my head down,
Trying to block you out, cause I'll never impress you.
I just want to feel okay
again.

I bet you got pushed around~
Somebody made you cold.
But the cycle ends right now.
Because you can't lead me down that road.

And you don't know,
What you
don't know.

Someday I'll be living in a big ol' city,
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.
Someday I'll be,
Big enough so you can't hit me.

And all you're ever gonna be is mean.

Why you gotta be so mean
?

And I can see you years from now, in a bar,
Talking over a football game.
With that same big loud opinion,
But nobody's listening.

Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things.
Drunk and grumbling on about,
How I can't sing
.

But all you are is mean.

All you are is mean,
And a liar,
And pathetic,
And alone in life.

And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean!

But
someday I'll be living in a big ol' city,
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.
YEAH-EAH!
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me,
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.

Why you gotta be so mean?

Someday I'll be living in a big ol' city,
(Why you gotta be so mean)
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.
(Why you gotta be so mean)
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me,
(Why you gotta be so mean)
And all you're ever gonna be is mean.

Why you gotta be so mean?

Taylor swift is meaning by her song "mean" is that people who bully other people are gonna go down one day and it's never right to bully anyone. Her song is about "caring" beacuase she was caring about other people and herself because she was bullied when she was in school as a kid and she was being knowledgeable about how she better than the bully that pushed her around.

There are tons of girls at my school that hate me and it's all because of jealousy. They all just hate me because I won that art contest in grade two but why do that hate me that much!? It was a long time ago and I remember when we used to b bffs why can't they just forget about it!? And I just wish we could make friends again.

I think that words that bullies say make the victim feel like getting stabbed with knifes and swords. "sticks and stones may break my bone but words will never hurt me" saying isn't always accurate. Then later in it the song states that one day she'll big enough so you can't hit me. That's the victim saying that she has confidence in the song to go against him, fight him off.

I think this song is about a girl who is stuck in a bad relasionship and is talking to the boy that some day she will be stronger then him no matter what he does to her and that he will always be mean and that she can live life the she wants to live it and not the way he wants her to live it and he can't do anything about it and that she will become a very succsesful woman without him.

I love it so much it means so much to me. When I listen to it I want to get up and dance, it has like a little message to it. Like it is telling you to never feel like you are getting picked on because it is not ok to feel that way. I have gotten picked on and now I am still in school and my feelings about gettin gpicked on is done I hate that other people are picking on other people it makes me really mad.

The song is about her being bullied by another person, but she does not care because taylor knows she will go far in life, and the other person will not, because they spent so much time being mean. I believe that this song shows the ib trait of reflective because she is showing how she feels about the bully, to the bully. She tells the bully how she does not care what she thinks, because taylor believes in herself.

This is exactly the way I feel about my older brother; he's bipolar or something, so he gets crazy-mean sometimes, and calls me out on all my crap. Even when he's better, he doesn't appreciate anything creative I do, and when I used to run around with my imaginary friends when I was little, he would act like I was an idiot. Granted, he's three years older than me and hates reading while my dream is to be a writer, but still.

I think that the meaning to -mean" is "hate" and that her ib learner trait is -respect" or -caring" in this song. I say that because in the first verse she sings -you with your words like knives, and swords and weapons that you use against me. " also in the second verse she sings "you have knocked me off my feet again, you got me feeling like nothing. " and all of these explain that whoever she is talking about has no respect and they need to respect her a little more.

I believe this song is about somebody being bullied when the person was younger, and then they are mean to everybody else now. I believe she is being reflective on her life, because she is singing about this person being mean to her and everybody else but in the future she will not know the person and won't care what he/ she thinks of her. All in all it is a song about bullying.

When I heard this song I thought of my ex abusive boyfriend mike. Lol. This song totally captures him. Hahaha. Happy birthday/ valentines mike. I am still better than you any day of the year cause I am still smiling and laughing. :-) for some reason I am reminded of my no good ex mike C. This valentine's day, ah? Perhaps because it is his 42nd birthday today? Anyhow, I use to tell him that it didn't matter to me that he was great looking, worked hard at two jobs, owned his own home, had a dodge truck and an acura car, he could never have my love because he not a gracious man. He use to mock me. I guess he never looked that word up in an dictionary. Lol. He did buy a book of quotes before we broke up. I am glad to have had some literary influence on my exes. Guess they never slept with a native american lady that had a vocabulary or something? :-p. Also he like taylor swift's music, very fitting, hahaha.

In this song, I think taylor swift is trying to say that she is upset with the way that this guy has treated her. I also, feel that taylor swift is being reflective in this song. She's expressing how she feels and analyzing her personal strengths and weaknesses into a song. The way she wrotye this song can also be portrayed by being principled, it's showing reasoning and honesty into her song, but, not being negitive about it.

Hey blondie224! We're a bit alike. My older brother also was mean to me. He kept boasting about how better a musician he is. But that was before this restaurant which is one of the most famous restaurants here in our place invited me to perform on their stage for they have special visitors. That was last week and this was the song I sang. He was totally speechless when he heard what I was singing.

Mean is about people who hate. I have a brother who is always so mean to me and the rest of my family. He fights with my parents and he talks back. It's always something like, "shut up", or, "this is why everyone hates you. " stuff like that! And I can't talk to my parents because they have already talked to him like a million times! I'm not supposed to just sit back and take that, right?

I think she means that she's done with him always bossing her around and she says that someday she is going to be better than him and he is going to be a nobody because he was mean. She basically just wants him out of her life. Taylor swift is being risk taking becuase she is standing up for herself and telling him to back off. I also think that she is being knowledgeable because she has some backround knowledge on being bullied.
