God is great and he has never abondon me! Just woke up in the midnight with this song in my head. Things haven't been easy, I've been looking for a permanent job for 5 years now, most of my friends have cars, house and jobs. My when he was a teen sang this song in church all the time he is grown with grandkids now and still sing it in church. It is one of our favorites if wasn't for Jesus Christ where would we be? I'm so blessed to been raised by Christian church going parents. My husband has quit breathing eight times and is still here to tell about it we are blessed every day blessed!

Too often I become caught up with my husband's and my current problems. We both have serious health problems. Over the past year he has begun suffering from grand mal and smaller seizures. I have ms and mas. Ms stands for multiple sclerosis, and mas is multiple auto-immune syndrome which is a fancy term to explain how I am constantly being diagnosed with other illnesses because my auto-immune system is in overdrive. For example, I also have adult onset asthma, colitis, crohne's disease, auto-immune hepatitis, eczema and psoriasis just to name a few of my chronic illnesses which will never completely go away. My health concerns has resulted in my receipt of social security disability benefits, and my husband is now attempting to get disability benefits because of his seizures. Prior to the seizures he was unable to get work after being laid off over three years. We lost our home and most of our belongings three years ago.
It is so easy to look at our problems. It is even easier to look at all we don't have which our family and friends do have. What I so appreciate about the song, "thank you, lord, for your blessings on me," is it makes me refocus the lens through which I view my life. Instead of despairing about our continued lack of money and home (we live in a cheap motel and have done so since we lost our home) or our health problems, this song reminds me of what we do have. We have a roof over our heads, we have a nice, comfortable bed on which to sleep, food to eat, each other, internet connections, cable television, each other and the many new blessings which the lord bestows upon us on a daily basis. Just having the lord love us is a huge blessing. We have so much more than what others might see, and definitely much more than we often realize or acknowledge. This lovely gospel song reminds me to count my blessings and to see just how much the lord has blessed my husband and me. While both of us currently have chronic, incurable health problems, we are able to take medicine to gain some control over our illnesses. My ms may now restrict me mostly to my bed, but thanks to the internet and also my love of reading, the perimeters of my world goes much further than the four walls of our motel space. We are richly blessed -- much more blessed than money and things could ever suggest. So thank you, lord, for your blessings on me!

This is such a heart stirring song, I am so very blessed with the necessities of life and there are so many people who are not. I do not need more than what this song describes! God provides so beautifully when we understand how he provides for us and his love, grace and salvation make everyday worth living despite what I may be going through. I never had nothing, but my children and me. There were times when we didn't have nothing to eat, or a roof above us, but we stay together and pray. I told my children about god and that we were still bless because we had our health and many people didn't even have that, but most of all we did have god. It made us stronger. 38 years ago, my only son at age 25, was killed in an automobile accident, which was devastating for my husband and me, as well our only daughter who was 25 at that time. I grieved over this terrible loss for 2 1/2 years. God reminded me that life goes on and to be thankful for the precious family I still had. My mother passed away at age 67 with an instant massive heart attack. Last year one of my brothers and a sister passed away, My sister had suffered with cancer that had spread through out her body. Three years ago, My husband of 61 yrs. Passed away with a deep brain stroke. He was stricken with Louie Bodies Dementia which we went through together for over eight years. Due to falling and other symptoms that I needed help. He spent the rest of his life in a nursing home. We had spent 15 yrs. In a volunteer church building ministry. Two years ago my daughter and her husband divorced. This tore our family apart. She was a believer and faithful to the Lord and her church. She has chosen a different lifestyle and my heart is broken. Last thanksgiving I heard this song on a Gaither program and it blessed my heart. I adopted in as my Thanksgiving prayer. I live alone and have all I need. "Thank You God For Your Blessings on Me".

My aunty was suffering from Bone cancer whenever shes in pain, at most times in the middle of the night, she always sing this song on top of her voice, we always cry and plead on her behalf in our prayer, knowing she's in pain. She love to sing this song whenever she's in pain. Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of my beloved aunty. We sang it during her funeral service, her special request, we almost could utter a word tears streaming down and all that attend the services crying hearing this song.
