My meaning of this song is how david, is trying to find his kind perfect but doesn't know if he's known her his entire life, how he would met her, will he see his entire future in her face (children, life with her etc). He also questions why he hasn't met her & they tell him to give it time but he can't help but question himself over & over again. He invisions her being everything but the usual & being a surprise. He's also questioning if he let her walk by. But over all he wants to keep searching his kind of perfect.

Everything is straight forward in this song. There's no perfect girl in this world, but there is someone who would always looking at the bright side and love him for who he is, not who he is now. No wonder he's still single. He's deep in thought of a girl who is positive and understand him. He waited all his life and one day, yes, one day, he will find her, that one person who can make his life complete.
