    It can be figurative. The storms represent our problems and the trials we go through and to soar with the Lord means to overcome those problems with faith in Him. It can be also literal, like what happened in the Philippines where oceans really rose and thunders roared but still many of them still have faith in God and they acknowledged that God is greater than those storms. They remained still and know that He is God.

    It means that in whatever circumstances where are in we must learn how to stay calm and allow god to work his way in our lives. When confronted by problems and frustrations our tendency is to worry but god says in psalm 46: 10- be still and know that I am god. We need not to worry because god is in control. This may not be easy but we must have faith. God never makes a mistake and he knows what his plans for us and that is to give us hope.

    If trials and problems come in our lives we should never give up, just continue to seek god's hand because if we trust god with all our hearts he is faithful who will let any temptation pass our way in which we cannot handle. Because 1 corinthians 10: 13 says "there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but god is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. "

    For me it means that I will be standing, no matter what happens I will stand as your child and know that you are god. Even if there's a flood, fire, etc. Nothing compares to the l♥ ve he gave to us. So why gave up if god will help you? It also means that we should put our trust in god in hard times; always. God is in control of everything. He is the king of our hearts. ♥~♥.

    For me, the song still means that when we are in troubles and help from him. Or when we're depress we can shelter in his care and love and sleep tight under his wings of mercy. And we have to trust him it times of trouble cause his the only god and the only one his powerful enough to make the ocean of problems be still. We shouldn't be afraid when trials come cause if we believed in him he will soar with across the thunder storm and we can rest assure with christ in our hearts.

    In hebrews 6: 19-20 jesus christ is referenced as the anchor of our soul. This is a maritime reference to a boat captain putting the anchor of his boat in the calm waters of the inlet. Even though his vessel was in the stormy waters, the anchor would hold it safe in the still waters of the harbor. I live in a coastal town and have seen the oceans rise and have heard the thunders of the many waters roar and I have sensed the still presence of god during that time. That is what "still" means to me.

    The ocean repents the storms in life, like everyday problems,but when we continue to put our trust in Him, He will not only get us out of that problems but we will rise above it,our fears,addiction we will conquer for we are more than conquers in christ jesus.

The devil wanted to steal my life when I was One Week Old. But If he couldn't manage me when I was one week old, never will you. I will soar with you my Lord. I am destined to be with you.     Just heard this song and I love it because for about 3 years now, I have been going through hard times. I have been asking myself so many questions and even now, the struggle still continues. Sometimes I even question whether there is a god up there and is it true that he watches over his word to perform it. But through it all I will be still and know you are go. You know what you are doing. All that I ask is to wrap me in your arms.

    11 april 2012 tsunami warnings in south east asia. This is what was going through my mind while making my way to higher ground:
    "when the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with you above the storm, father you are.
    King over the flood. And I will be still and know you are god! "
    praise be to him alone when the tsunami warnings were lifted with not so much as one wave causing destruction!

    Of the many verses that man and god can tell me to take heart, there shall never be any other comforting words in my life than to stay still and through my many confusing and troubled states, I know that he only is in control, he only knows what is best, he only has the solution. And this song, the way hillsong blended his authority to show that he is indeed god, it eases my worries and strengthens me to face my challenges strategically, trusting him all the way.

    For me it means, no matter what you go through in life, God is bigger than any storm, as long as you acknowledge him he will direct you and bring you out of anything you are going through, nothing is too big that god cannot bring you out of, God is always there to fight your battles for you. Just be still.

    I pondered upon the song over and over again, in fact I wasn't even familiar with the lyrics but it just kept ringing in my mind. It makes me recall two harsh instances in the Gospel that the disciples went through. At one time Jesus was sleeping in the rear part of the ship and there arose a life threatening storm, thunder and lightening flashing through the sky and when disciples rose up Jesus, He stilled the sea and they found peace.
    Sometimes later, the same experience occurred but this time Jesus wasn't in the ship and as the disciples had lost hope and frightened to death suddenly Jesus appeared walking on the water. Peter realised it was the Lord and not the ghost as they opted and their hearts were at peace when they saw Peter's hand in Jesus' as they walked over the water (storm). When you and I have Jesus in our lives, we can easily soar above our troubles, temptations and trials of this life. He did not command the sea to disappear but He made it possible to walk over, your problems will remain as they are but Jesus will give you grace to overcome if you trust in Him.

    This song calls me to come before the LORD GOD in whatever circumstances and still my soul before Him. Worship Him in quietness and trust. Find peace and refreshment in the shadow of His wings. It reminds me of Psalm 131 where we are encouraged to humble ourselves in the presence of the LORD, as a child that has been weaned. Like a small child, know that our Father loves us, comforts us, protects us, and provides all that we need in every moment. Thank you for such a powerful song that really speaks from GOD's heart to mine this morning.

    Despite the temptations and challenges we face through, we should always stand firm in strong faith and even when we face persecution we should never deny our faith because after every temptation you pass through your faith becomes much stronger. And our lord is always faithful when we call upon him he always responds.

    Alot of the time we are faced with problems and our faith gets shaken because we are busy giving our problems all the attention and we forget that we serve a god who is greater than any situation. This song reminds me that even when I am faced with a storm in my life, I have to be still and trust in him because we serve a god that makes the impossible be possilbe.

    To me the song means God has created the storms and the oceans i.e. in this world there will be trouble for us but we must not worry but be still because He will soar with us above the storms because these storms are nothing to Him because He has created them.

    These words keep popping up, on my face book wall, pictures messages. It touches me so deeply and I just burst into tears. These words are so powerful. When I lost my 3year old nephew I cried each day I had so many questions etc until I heard this song, no more daily tears. Satan tries to test me and throw problem after problem but I will be still no you are god!

    Rest; no shaking God gives us his peace that passeth all understanding. King over the storm, flood, He is the master of the universe. All things are under his control. No problem, issue, worry, concern is bigger than my God. Finally he wants me to be still and know that he is god! Chill, relax, sit back and let me show you who is in charge. This is what the song means to me. Nothing feels better than good worship.

    We have the power of Almighty God - within us - to rise above the storms of life. And we can rest our souls and be still with God and know the peace that the entire world has always searched for. Real peace. This song is very deep, and very powerful to me. It restores my soul, lifts my spirit and moves my faith ever forward. This is an awesome song, just as our God is Awesome!

    To me this is one song that truly lift up my soul for the song agrees with what the scriptures declares when trials, persecutions, floods and the storms of life arises against us as the children of God. Yes storm will come but one truth remains, the faith we have in God and the word we profess will sure calm the storms and our live and situations will be still and God will be glorified when we stand after all has happened. God is alive and all praise belongs to Him in Jesus name!

    You know so many tyms when we're faced wit a whole lot of issues which demand dat we make certain decisions. The world around us seems to be spinning so fast we can barely kip up wit its pace. We feel very incapable of doin anytin and then we wonder what. Its then we should just remain still. Don't even try to figure out all the incomprehendable chaos. Bein stil is lettin god do what he does best. Bein in control. Findin peace in the fact dat god is stil in charge of the universe no mata how fast it spins.
