Jim Reeves – This World Is Not My Home lyrics
This world is not my home I'm just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

I have a loving mother just over in Gloryland
And I don't expect to stop until I shake her hand
She's waiting now for me in heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know...
[ guitar ]
Just over in Gloryland we'll live eternaly the saints on every hand are shouting victory
Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven's shore
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know...

A song that touches the hearth any time, also puts me in the mood to think about the this world that there is surely a place to go after death. Definitely all the treasures we crave for in this world are all vanity, therefore heaven should be the major focus of all Christians.

My Dad chose this song 20 years ago to be sang at Mom's funural.
48 days short of Mom's 20 year anniversary, we lost our Dad. Needless to say this is the song we chose for Dad too, and it was sang by a very dear friend and co-worker, Lester Macpherson. This song will always have a special meaning to me.
Love you and miss you very much Mom &Dad (Raymond&Myrtle Campbell) Your Daughter, Deborah.

My dad love singing this song while we are very young but I don't understand the meaning of this song then but now I know is a song that remind us we have a home in eternity where our treasures are laid up. Singing this song does not mean one will die early no just to put our way straight before our maker because end can come at anytime so that when the trumpet.

Eally this world is not a home to live. The real treasures are in the eternal heaven. There is reality to this song. But, most or almost all people never like to leave this evil world despite the truth that the lord is holding the real treasures to give to each one of us. People think that if they sing this song, they will crash and die like the way jim died in a plane crash. But, one thing is sure death is eminent and no one can escape and there is no guarantee that if on sings a filmi song then, they can escape death. I think lot many people live in just false hood. That's sad! . For me I dails listen and sing this song and means so much to me.

Paul tells the Philippian Christians that they are citizens of heaven, even while they are living on this earth. But it is only those who have seen they cannot gain heaven by their own efforts and good works and have seen that Jesus Christ alone, through His death on the cross, has gained heaven for them who can take comfort from what Paul writes.

Jim Reeves seemed to have a genuine hope of heaven not a sentimental one. Are you living as a citizen of heaven now? Or are you not wanting to leave this earthly vain domain and all it seems to offer to you?

Mat 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Nothing can be added or subtracted from this such an first ever in this 21st century angelic and inspirational song. Who even wants to review, who. The first time I heard this music, I call for its replay. And is a time when, the church is lukewarm. But, with this song, I reconnect myself always in tears and more deeper composition to the glory of god. Jim, you are an hero of faith, that is impact cannot be forgotten forever and ever. Amen. I will make it.
