Marceline – I'm Just Your Problem lyrics

Marceline is truly a character that I feel I can relate too. This song is so inspirational yet so short. However in the couple minutes that it's sung comes across a strong meaningful song. For those who feel as if they are invisible to someone who feels as if they "rule over you" then give 'em the finger and show them they are no better then you!

This song me feel so amazing. I can actually relate to this. This girl in one of my classes treats me just like Princess Bubblegum treats Marceline. She treats me like I don't exist, like I'm invisible, and she expects me to treat her like a goddess. She pretty much rules school. The only thing that want to do is sing this to her and make her understand that just because I don't want to follow her rules that she can just ignore me. I plan on doing this soon. Thank Rebecca Sugar for singing this song! It has changed me in many ways. Just because lt's short, doesn't mean that it can't change someone's perspective of life.

Marceline and Bubblegum had a falling out. They used to date and are both still bitter towards one another but both still obviously care (it's never stated in the show there are hints throughout the series like this episode you find Bubblegum sleeps in Marcelines t-shirt) but both still care about one another. Marceline starts to sing her version of a love song "I'm going to burry you in the ground, I'm going to bury you in my sound. I'm going to drink the red from your pretty pink face, I'm gonna..." Where Bubblegum tells her to stop and it is distasteful. Keeping in mind Marceline's Dad rules the Nightosphere.

Marceline's song changes it's tune as she becomes angry and hurt that Bubblegum told her to stop which lets loose her harboured feelings. First singing sorry sarcastically for not treating her as if she's a goddess and asks her if she was supposed to and then saying her subjects are there to treat her as if she's perfect. At this point Marcelines hurt seeps through when she apologises for not being made of sugar, like everything in Bubblegums kingdom and her pain of feeling like and inconvenience in Bubblegums life and feeling avoided and ignored. She refers to herself as her problem or "mistake". She sings about how she shouldn't have to justify everything she does, and admits she doesn't even remember what it was that they fought about to lose touch but she doesn't feel she should have to make everything up to Bubblegum, but wants to sounding disheartened as she sings "why do I want to?" herself for wanting to. At this point she realises everybody was listening and the she is wearing her heart on her sleeve, so she tries to close off her feelings and her song falters reverting to the first lot of lyrics "I want to bury you in the ground, drink the blood from your."

It makes me feel like I'm not the only one that I'm not alone and for me it is nice to know that I'm not by myself. What it means to me like I said that other people go through what I go through. Some people feel that they need to change so that they can be liked. And I believe that we don't have to change and Marceline has proved that. There will always be someone out there who like you the way you are.

This song really means a lot to me because it boosts my confidence a whole lot. I can sing this from the heart, because I'm kind of in Marceline's case here. Like Princess Gumball, the person I'm referring to always thinks the world revolves around them, and they can be nice at times, but sometimes they don't realise their actions, which can hurt my self esteem. I think I might sing this to the person, to show her that she isn't in the center of universe.
