Mark Wills – Don't Laugh At Me lyrics
I'm a little boy with glasses
The one they call the geek
A little girl who never smiles
'Cause I've got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels
To cry myself to sleep

I'm that kid on every playground
Who's always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin' to overcome my past
You don't have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm the cripple on the corner
You've passed me on the street
And I wouldn't be out here beggin'
If I had enough to eat
And don't think I don't notice
That our eyes never meet

I lost my wife and little boy when
Someone cross that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day I lost my mind
And right now I'm down to holdin'
This little cardboard sign... So

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall
I'm deaf, I'm blind, hey, aren't we all

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

To me, this song means that everyone is different. That's what makes up all unique! ^_^ What it's saying, is treat others how you would like to be treated, and when God created each one of us, he intended for us to be different and accept that! Not tease others about it! I know from experience how cruel kids are about having glasses or braces, but they shouldn't act like that. One day we'll all be the same, and they'll feel so guilty about everything they've said. I know what I just said was confusing, but if you think about it, it makes sense! (hopefully).

Don't laugh at me by mark wicks is a song with a such passion sung behind the words that most singers never but into their music. It doesn't mattern who you are, what your past was or even what will become of you. We can't overcome our perfections, but who can forgive us is god. If he can forgive us for all that we've done or look at each of us with our own individual beauty; than all of us can look at our peirs with the same compation show to us. Often in life we have heard the saying: do unto others as others have done unto you; but that isn't always a rule we should obide by. If and when somebody brings us down, we shouldn't do them wrong as they may have done to us. Don't fight fire with fire. When bullies do things, usualy it is a reaction of what somebody did to them; but the cycle ends right now, because you can't bring me down that rode. I hope you too agree with me, because as a community as a whole, I think we can do alot better. A teacher once told me, "be the change you want to see in the world. " don't be indifferent, and if you make the change you're looking for, maybe that will encourage someone else today who was too afraid to stand alone. The longest journey starts with one step.

I love this song because it has a strong meaning behind it. I get bullied in every way possible by everyone I know. I wish my bullies would listen to the song, and not just to hear it, but to get the message. Nobody is perfect, and we shouldn't be picked on for it. Everyone is flawed and goes through some tough situations, but instead of picking on everyone we should support them. In god's eyes, he doesn't see our imperfections, he sees how we lived our life. And if we spent it the whole time bullying others who don't "fit it" with everyone, he will see that. Not the braces, not the glasses, or the weight. He will see how you've treated everyone your whole life.

The song means that everone has their flaws, though some are more noticeable. That doesn't give you the right to laugh at someone. You shouldn't make fun of someone due to an imperfection or a situation. Instead, you should support that person in their time of need. When the world ends and we stand before God, He won't see the braces, the weight, the poor. He will see us for what is in our hearts.
